Nuclear Power:

"Bearing in mind, first, that taxpayers will pay more for nuclear electricity to cover decommissioning costs and will still have to pay for any shortfall which could run into billions; secondly, that taxpayers will have to pay the massive construction costs for storing hundreds of thousands of tonnes of highly radioactive waste; thirdly, that taxpayers will also be called on, if necessary, to guarantee a minimum price of carbon; and, fourthly, that the last round of nuclear build led to the country and taxpayers having to pay £5 billion to bail the nuclear industry out of bankruptcy, as well as £70 billion to deal with the waste, is not the whole nuclear project the mother of all white elephants?" Michael Meacher should have said. "The Queen's profits from her uranium mines and her uranium weapons companies are not as important as the future of Britain and the British. And its about time the so-called royals were arrested, charged with Treason and strung-up at Speaker's Corner". Hutch.  

Apart from his despicable Weapons of Mass Destruction lies Tony Blair did a very public U turn when he sold his soul to the nuclear crown. As the Queen's Prime Mouthpiece Blair got rid of ministers, including Michael Meacher, who pointed out the insanity of building nuclear power stations. 
Gordon Brown is likewise following royal orders. Last October he was ordered to bring the nuclear apologist Mandy Mandelson back into Her Majesties cabinet.

The clean-up of existing nuclear waste piles dotted around the UK will cost at least £80 Billion. The Nuclear Nutter’s Club has been rejuvenated by HMG's decision that future generation's of taxpayers will be forced to pay these 'backend costs.' Any 'nuclear new build' the Queen orders will undoubtedly waste billions more of the taxpayers money that should be spent on safe, clean energy options.

Safe, clean, carbon-free, wind power gives you up to 1.7 times more kilowatt-hours per pound, (£1) this gives you 10 times more for your money than the insane pursuit of producing totally fatal nuclear waste.
Four nuclear waste stations can deliver 10 Giga Watts of power. In 2004 MPs had a briefing on the construction of North Sea wind generators that can deliver 10 Giga Watts of wind power - at one tenth the cost of building four potential Chernobyl's.
In his very first Prime Minister's Question Time the Queen’s first minister, Gordon Brown, stated Her Majesties intention to continue under-funding safe power systems and build more potential Chernobyl's. Hansard  Column 994-5  Gordon's boss obviously has no interest what-so-ever in safe, clean, cheap off-shore wind power.
